Hi Folks My Raymarine 4000 auto pilot has gone useless and it looks like I am going to have to replace it. The current system uses a wheel drive which I am told should not be fitted to hydraulic steering systems as it can't cope with the slippage of the pump. Having said that it was just about adequate for my...

Hi all, Since the 4 x 22 x 19 R prop hangs under Tommie, she tends strongly to starboard. There are no return valves mounted in the hydraulic system. When i let go the steering wheel above 9 kn. she immediately goes hard starboard. I cannot feel any play on the rudder shaft and there is no air in the hydrauli...

Hi all, I have 13 coats of antifoul on my Lochin 333, which I would like to remove. Pressure washing has removed the barnicles and weed but the surface is still very rough. Caustic has been suggested, what are your views and recomendations. Hope you can help, regards, Will.

While crossing the 1 mile wide fairway Nort sea - Antwerp, the single prop of Tommie our 33 Lochin, picket up a piece of rope making her steer less. I know you going to reply: A good skipper don't need a bow thruster. but: When I asked our harbourmaster to reserve a place for Tommie, it apeared there was only one place left.
