2018 season

Hi All

We'll that's us all painted up and ready for the season.

Still a few engineering jobs to be completed but they are being done by others so not in my hands. We are having new sea****s, intakes and strainers fitted this year, i think the ones we have just taken off were the original ones and have shown a slight de-zincification due to not being tied into the hull anode - the new ones will be.

Also we are having a new shaft nut made as when we arrived at the yard the prop was not tight on the taper so a new castellated variety is to be made, when the weather improves and I can drive across country to Buckie!

The life raft cradle was a home made wooden affair which I modified a few years ago but it wasn't really fit for purpose so a new universal one from Norwest marine is on order.

Finally a treat for me - a new helm seat! The old one is looking a bit tatty and despite attempts to keep it going with new squab and cover and a re-paint a few years ago it is looking past it's best. I wonder If I can find a heated one with built in massage facility and coffee maker

Got to keep the old girl looking good, 42 years young this year and still working hard.

Hope everyone else is getting a bit done and ready for an early launch

Cheers

Martin

Cygnus 33. Amazing boat

Bought a Cygnus 33 recently. Carried out a full refurbishment, new engine, new wiring etc. its like new. Great boat. It was built in 1990. All I have is the hull number. I need to locate a copy of a construction survey for this boat. I dont have an SSR number. Does anyone know what happened to the paperwork for Cygnus marine Ltd. Im based in Ireland. A copy of a construction survey for a Cygnus 33 would extremely helpful. No unlike yourselves, the paperwork here is crazy but we have no choice but to comply. Anyway any help or advice would be really appreciated.

Thanks, she is a fairly hard working old girl out most days with passengers so we have to keep her ij the best condition we can. A big re-furb planned for next winter

Cheers
