Buying an Aquabell 27

Hi Guys,

I am new to this forum and would like to ask if i may for your thoughts on the Aquabell 27. I am seriously thinking of buying one that seems to be seriously kitted out, and the owner says she will do 28 knotts with a Volvo Penta 230hp KAD43p with leg drive. The boat sems to be in great condition.

Any views would be appreciated

Hi Jamie,
I used to own an Aquabell 27 for 8 years but was shaft driven with 212hp and max 16 knots.
More than likely a Aquabell 27 on a drive leg started life as twin engines, then changed to one as some have been.
After a lot of research and viewing a twin I opted for a single on shaft due to space and maintenance.
A great boat although very wet in certain sea conditions but get a decent half canopy and problem resolved.
I absolutely loved my Aquabell 27 always wanted a 33 flybridge and would buy a 33 by in preference now but have my Lochin 33 which is just superb!
Don't think you will go far wrong with an Aquabell, remember to have a good survey as the early 27's are approaching 45 years old now !
