power option

Well after a productive trip to edf france i have some more details for you guys
the system consists of a fuel cell of hydrogen and other components which together get slotted into a generator which they supply, it is put in where the engine would usually sit, it is slightly heavier than the 450 iveco i was originally considering, but the power to weight ratio of this unit is amazing.
There is only one outlet at the moment for this system and being only 28nm from Dielette is great for me. they estimate a 200 hour life cycle per cell which for me equates to about two seasons boating, perfect although the price is high at the moment it will come down in time as the units start to gain popularity.
The drive train will also be quite different, i will post more on this when i have it.

OK Blakey

I get the rough idea, hydrogen fuel cell plus a generator.

Don't forget the generator will need to drive an electric motor which in turn will need to drive the prop.

You are going to need at least 250 kw output from the generator.

Tell us some more please!

Cheers

Chas
