I went through some of my photo collections and thought you might find the attached photos interesting.
Photo #1 - 1988 Rye factory. #2 - Sprayrails mark I. #3 - My dads boat March 1978 in Rye. #4 - London boat show 1978. This Lochin they called a Potter. They only made one, and eventually got sold to Corsica, from what I remember. #5 - Rye 1978. #6 - Prototype brede. In front left hand corner, Frank Nichols (MD). Right of Frank is in house designer, Judd Fairley. In background 2 engineers. #7 - Swiss Star - Rye 1988. #8 - Rye 1980. Peter Wilsons boat. Last time I saw her was in Brighton as a charter boat, around '95.
Also very interesting is that your Dad's 1978 Lochin had exactly the same extended wheelhouse joint detail as mine originally had.
What was the internal layout of your Dad's? Mine is two full legnth V berths forward then heads to port and small galley to starboard. Up into the wheelhouse then helm to port, normal dinette to starboard but with wide rear seat as the engine is half in and half out of the wheelhouse. Wheelhouse door to port.
Also notice in one of your photos that they have radiused the corners of the transome. mine are square
Well i cant believe it ...... Photo 1 is Blue Swell in build. The giveaway is the mast rear mounts bolted on the overhang and the stern ladder, she was named Ellinor when built..
Would apreciate you looking for some further shots if you have .
Swiss Star is also similar to mine ............ question is where is she now?
