Door locks

Hi all,

When I took the original factory fitted lock off (wheelhouse door) of course after 22years it fell to pieces in my hands. I haven't yet been able to find anything similar that is of a good marine quality.

Any suggestions?

Geoff, it must be a very similar lock to what you have got. Same era. Maybe you can make a photo and I can then compare to my old one.

Thanks everyone.

Harold

Hi Harold

There are quite a lot of locks available, mine is just a house type Yale lock and there is no sign of anything different ever being fitted.

If you could post a picture of your old lock, I'll have a look through some of my catalogues.

How's the re-gelcoating going by the way?

Cheers

Chas

Hi chas,

Thanks for the offer to look for a similar lock over there. Everything we look at here is very flimsy and not nearly as solid as the old one.

Hi Harold

I can't quite tell from the picture exactly what material the casing is made from; is it brass or brass plated steel? It looks like there is rust on it but difficult to tell for sure.

Also can you give me the dimensions so that I can look for one with the same key and handle hole locations.

Do you still want brass finish?

I presume that your old one is not repairable and doy want to re-use the old handle assembly?

Cheers

Chas
