Your boat is looking good, you must be very pleased with her.

I always like the look of the orange coloured wheelhouse and for an ex lifeboat is a definite must!

Hope you have many happy hours boating safe in the knowledge that if it comes up rough you are in a pretty safe place.....if it was good enough for the RNLI, then to me that says it all!

I hope that eastern dawn is going well and that you are pleased with her. I built the boat between 1994 and 1997 on my front lawn in suffolk. I kept her for about 5 years

and then sold her and she went to the channel islands. When she was built I put a sabre 300hp in the craft and she would do 21 knots on a good day. She was a superb sea boat

and I always felt safe in her in all conditions. When I launched the boat she did not have the bow thruster but I put one in after about 2 years. If I remember right the hull with the frames cost me 

about £8000 and Lochin were doing some good deals back in 1994. The windows came from Houdini marine in Essex. Most of the parts for the build came from ASAP supplies in Beccles suffolk.

It would be good to see a photo of her after you have done the re-fit.   Regards Dave Rogers

Got it in an auction so I never got to speak to the previous owner. There is, however, a post about the boat on this forum. If you type "Pirette" in the search window, you'll get some more background

I got twenty minutes to inspect her - still don't know whether the engine works...

But then the (re)paint job was carried out so thoroughly - I can't imagine anybody spending so much time and energy on a boat with a poor engine (and it looks good, clean). On the downside: all the ceiling panels were taken off (I think to be able to clear the roof of all the rails, antennae, etc) and I spent quite a bit of time finding out which wire went where. When the weather turns, I'll work on the outside to make her ready for the water.

The pictures were taken on the day of the sale - so not something I did. It's not black, by the way, but dark blue - same colour as the hull.

Hi Chuck.  Thats a classic looking Lochin you have there...very nice.

You say she was a wreck when you bought her? You have certainly brought her back to life now.

I bet there aren't many Lochins in Corsica are there?

Do you have any other photo's of her during the refurb, as it would be great to see them.

Stumbled onto this forum and thought; let's post my Lochin here as it looks like I have an unusual Lochin.

It's a 333 GDSV 1997 hull No. 3.

Bought it in the UK many years ago from the 1st owner, kept the original name.

Our homeport is Delfzijl ( Holland).

Till today we are enjoying sailing her very much ( inland - between the Dutch Islands and Offshore), we also used it commercially but last years purely leisure.

On the photo the hull colour looks a bit fading but last year we put a "nano based" coating on the hull ( kind of wax ) and she is shining again.

Hello everybody! 

This is my Lochin 33.

Only 3 boats were made this way. The Swedish agency for Lochin brought 3 hulls from England and completed them in a shipyard in Sweden.

We use it as a fishing boat and its fantastic. The boat is raised so all of the engine is under deck, which gives you a big deck area. The cargo space is really big too.
