Here you go then gentlemen, heres one for you to think over. I originally had two rather dates oil pressure gauges on my boat that worked on the oil pressure from two thin pipes coming from each engine. I updated all the gauges to a new set for each engine. Really easy to wire in but I cant get either of the oil pressure gauges to work. There are only three wires to each gauge, + - S. The S goes to the sender that replaced the connection on the block for the original pipes, not rocket science is it but I cant get either one to work. The earths on the engines are all sweet and electrics is really up my street but I cannot find the issue here, to be honest its really pissing me off.
That sounds odd, like you say they aren't complicated.
1 Try running a separate earth to the body of the sender unit just in case it is an earth issue, this will eliminate that.
2 you might have 2 dodgy sender units, unlikely but not impossible in this day and age.
2 are they for the correct voltage? 24/12?
4 Check continuity on the wires themselves
Worst case scenario is you don't have any oil pressure Also as a test run a positive direct from the battery to eliminate any ignition switches etc. Other than that I can't think of anything else off the top of my head.
I am interested to know the outcome of this one, good luck
