Lochin Passenger/Trip Boats

Hi all,

I was wondering if anybody knows of any Lochin passenger/trip boats that are in operation? I know of a 40 footer that works in Ireland doing dolphin watching trips but have not come across any others...

Any suggestions appreciated as I'm looking for inspiration for a possible future purchase.

Thanks

Hi.

There is a Lochin 40 passenger carrying ferry here in Brixham.

She is to be replaced soon I believe, by a long awaited catamaran.IMG_0087.JPG

There's one for sale (auction) in the Netherlands for not too much money (but little time left): https://www.troostwijkauctions.com/nl/polyester-jacht/03-22590-11902-3801724/

Hi all,

Is our Tommie,

Didn't use her for 400 days now due lack of time, (a worn out spine also keeps me ashore some bad days) Due not using her she has a 5 feet long green beard now and as Insurance, marine Phone license, summer and winter marina costs still have to be paid, we decided to put her on the market.

There came a reaction and visit from Guy's from a foreign country who want to use her as harbor and ship inspection vessel. On her approx.. 38 year old age she almost became a working girl, but buyers demanded CE declarations of boat and engine, buoyancy and stability docs and so on witch are not available for our 38 year old sport fishing boat, so sale was off and we decided to get her off the market and keep her hoping for more free time in the future so we can enjoy her again.

Cheers,

Kees.

I know for a 40 Sportfish doing dive charter, complete with diver lift. She's in West Bay and could easily be for sale. I also know for a 33 which could be bought!

I think I know the boat you mean here. She is 'Huntress 2 if I am correct? She was up for sale some time ago, but whether or not she sold, or the owner kept her I don't know.

Robbie. I had a look at that 38, Bella Jane....she looks super.

Hows things with you and 'Alison Rose'?

Regards to everyone.

Dave

Never met the guy but know the boat.

Out of interest do you have a Lochin yourself?

I do, a 33 with a Tusker wheelhouse. She once belonged to the man with the 40 in West Bay! I use the boat for pleasure so off to Dartmouth & Salcombe today!

Thanks everyone for their comments and apologies for taking so long to get back! Actually, two nice Lochin 40 passenger boats have just popped up for sale - one in Brixham and one in Ireland.

Since my original post however, things have changed slightly and I no longer need to carry 40+ passengers. I now only need capacity for 12+2 so I'm hoping a 33 is going to be ample for my requirements.

Is it realistic to cram 12 passengers on the aft deck of a 33 on bench seats? If so, does anybody know of a 33 for sale? I'm completely open minded as to spec, engines, condition etc (not afraid of a project!).

Thanks
