Hi there, I'm new to this forum. Have just bought a Lochin 33 on an auction (which means I never met the previous owner) and was wondering whether any one knows about this particular model. I haven't been able to find any similar boats on the internet, althougt it looks somewat like the Brede Class. It was built in 1987 and is powered by a 300hp Mermaid
It is somewhat similar indeed, although the window lay out (both wheel house forecabin) is different. I checked the GSDV on www.lochin.com and found the interior different, too. Mine was built (or rebuilt?) for other purposes, I guess. It has a U-shaped dinette on the starboard side (possible because the door is off centre), which can serve as a bed (the table can be lowered). Opposite is the galley. The wheel is on the port side too. There is a navigation area on starboard, with a fixed seat here as well. The fore cabin has a toilet on port and a shower on SB. The rest is pretty much like other 33s.
The boat will be transferred soon - I'll have lots of time to make pictures then - will keep you posted.
André
PS Have been a Lochin fan for a long time, but could never afford one. I could get this one at a very reasonable price (auction), but there is bit of risk involved: don't know whether or not the engine works, for example!
Hi Andre.
Nice boat you've got there. The previous owner was Hans Tuik. Go to Pirette on this forum and you can see the work he did on your boat and where the boat came from.
I am your man for the answers. We bought what was a basic Lochin 33 Calypso in Jersey in about 1979. The boat then had a complete rebuild to my own design by David Le Page of Guernsey. I later re- engined the boat. We sold her some years ago but I am very happy to hear from you and answer any questions if I can.
