Lady Jayne had her 5 year out of water survey yesterday for her cat 2 coding and passed with no recomendations from the surveyor at all. What a difference from the boat we bought 5 years ago when the surveyor came up to me with a grim expression on his face and a list a mile long. While I was waiting to answer questions and show him where we store all the regulatory bits and bobs we managed to fit a new seat squab and cover to the helm seat, not bad value at £70 from Kab if it lasts us another 5 years, it even gave me confidence to tackle the back rest if they do new covers for that too. Just need a few good days to get the hull and boot stripe painted then we can be re-paunched and on our way home.
Hope everyone else has had some good news recently
Thanks, I agree about the Lochin, a bit of hard work and the true nature of the beast shines through.
Sadly we haven't had our share of the nice weather yet and LJ is still in the yard! Looking at launching Mon/Tues but it means it will be tight to get ready for our first booking of 2014. If all goes to plan we might just make it but any set back and we are done for.
Just had a biblical hail shower and snow forecast for later today, the joys of living so far north.
