big cod


Alright lads ,as work and weather has meant I haven't been near the boat in ages I have been a bit quiet on the forum no  but yesterday the weather gods said you must go fishing and sod work biggrin so who am I to argue with the gods ,there's been a few cod caught around the isle of wight so I went out to find a big cod or two and I finally found a 30+lb cod in nab tower waters ,weighed the cod on the boat and the scales were bouncing between 30-33 lb ,also had a 10lb cod and I dropped another cod half way up , also had a few congers pout dogs and a load of nice y-ting

Nice cod Dave...you'll need a few chips to go with that one!!

We haven't had any 30lb ers....yet this year, but remain hopeful!

The Pollack were around in fairly good numbers last time out, with some good ling (25lb) too. That will be the kiss of death now, as we are out tomorrow!!!

Hi Dave

Thats a cracker! We don't get big fish round here anymore unless we just aren't finding them (no-one else is either) apart from the big granny skate. I keep tormenting myself with the idea of going to Norway or Iceland for a trip - maybe one day!

LJ is oot the watter noo. Just the usual maintenance to do over winter plus a whole new paint up for next spring and a few bits of metalwork. The dinghy is still down at the moorings so maybe trundle out to wet a line Sunday as it is looking calm. You never know what might turn up this time of year.
