Martin and all, not sure if you have seen this before but I thought you may be interested anyway. Found a Lochin ref archived site. Lady Jane is on there and also another called Isis.
Hopefully have posted the links correctly, just copy and paste...it should work.
That's how we bought LJ Keel band hanging off. rust streaked and un-loved (must have been mad) Thankfully under all that guff and rubbish there was still a proper sea boat waiting to get back in the water. Hopefully now she has been brought back into a decent condition she will be easier to maintain and give another 35 years of sevice.
I looked at Isis when it was for sale back in 2004 - it had been wrecked by previous DIY owners! The hull and superstructure were OK but apart from that, it needed gutting and starting again, engines included - it only did about 10 knots flat out.
The last time I saw it advertised, it apperred to have had some sort of burr walnut formica glued on over the same rubbish and really tarted up. If you go into the photos on the link, you'll see what I mean. Oh well!
It still needs gutting and starting again it it is ever going to look like like a boat rather than Wicks grade DIY.
Cheers
Chas

I have seen the "Lady Jayne" and "Isis" archives as I was browsing the web. "Lady Jayne" got lucky to have a loving and enthusiastic new owner!! Hope you have a good season this year Martin. Also good on you for the improvements to "LJ".
Couldn't agree more with you, Chas about "Isis". The outside looks quite good, but the inside "needs work"!!! I don't understand the decorating tastes of some people..
Thanks for the compliment but I have done no where near the amount or quality of work you have. LJ is still a working girl as she has been all her life, she is now just growing old gracefully.
We are hoping for a good season, but of course that will depend on the weather! It will be your autumn now I guess, do you stil manage to go boating right through the winter?
