flexible engine mounts

hi

anyone have any preferences on wheather to have flexible engine mounts or bolt the engine down hard.

i have a mk1 mitchell 31 and have fitted new flexiblee engine mounts as the old ones were worn out .

i had the correct weight of engine mounts but on tickverover 700RPM the vibration is bad even out of gear

once the revs are speeded up the vibration goes i wonder if bolting the engine down hard would improve the situation

the engine is a 120hp ford

Hi Ocean tramp,

I think it,s a bad idea to give engine vibrations direct to the hull. Airplanes drop out of the sky due vibrations and boats sink.

Check your engine.

I am not familiar with Ford, but had once a Perkins with the rubber in the crankshaft damper damaged, the vibration on low rpm was tremendous.

br,

kees.
