Post your Lochin Hanging on a Crane Pictures!

I'm Bored, so i thought how about we all post our pics of our Lochins being craned (or trailered) in or out of the water! Also, a point of interest, is it just me, or does the main Lochin Website hardly contain a single lochin picture? ie if you click on new boats & then click on Lochin 40 or Lochin 333 there are litterally no pictures but a drawing of the boats? Simon, you must have hundreds of cracking lochin pictures you could attach as a gallery? I think it would help interest and possibly your sales....

Hi Robbie

Here's an old picture of mine on a crane.

You're right about the lack of pictures. Apart from probably boosting sales, it would be nice to see some.

Cheers

Chas

Hi everyone,

Sorry, we have been very slow in getting anything on the forum lately. We have the Lochin finally out of the water and are working on the water line and anti fouling. The last coating of anti fouling was not done in a good manner, and I am determined this time to make it as good as possible. I have also managed to get the prop off so I can fit the new one and then do some speed trials. (I actually havent yet done any speed trials - slack eh?) The growth after 3 months was incredible. She should be back in the water by this wednesday, and I promise I will make photos and a posting asap. Attached are a few pics including one of the crew having a meal break.

Chas, in regard to your bow roller: I will take some photos of my bow roller and also the measurements. It is not a production bow roller, but it looks half decent. I spent a few hours on getting it just right. It's a really heavy duty one, one you wont' bend.

Cheers

Harold

Hi Harold

Yours is looking better than new - superb job!

I'd like too see it with the new antifouling on.

I'd certianly be interested to see your bow roller, that's one job I've got to do soon.

Good crew, is she your daughter?

Please also see picture of two of my crew - grandchildren. The good thing is you can hand them back!

Cheers

Chas

Hi Chas,

Yep, she's mine alright (just turned two). Now I am outnumbered! But I'm not giving up yet!

You have a fine crew (granddaughters) - double trouble?

Regards

Harold & Kelly

Hi Harold

If you think you're outnumbered now mate, just wait untill she's about 15 and can really gang up with your missus on you!

Fortunately, the one on the right is my grandson so he's on my side which is a good job because my granddaughter on the left is double trouble on her own!

Thanks, both fine crew!

Cheers

Chas

Hi Everyone

Some one quite unrelated to the forum just sent me this.

See what you think, expensive or what?

I am due at the yard in the next week for winter haul-out, hope it goes better than this.

Brilliant!

That boat would have been useless for fishing anyway!

Hi Kees.

No there isn't any anti fouling on my props. Thanks for the reminder.........that's another thing I will ask about in the antifoul/coppercoat topic.

Cheers.

Dave

Hi, I was a sleeping Dutch member on this forum for a while. Bought my Lochin 33 (Shark) in Holland in 2012. One of my best decisions ever. It's in Amsterdam on the North Sea Canal, halfway IJmuiden. Not a very good video of the boat being hauled out of the water. Forgive me, I was impressed by the young woman who operated the crane very professionally.

cheers

bob

Hi Bob and welcome.

Nice to see a new member on here.

Its been a bit quiet lately and sometimes goes like that.

That's a nice 33 you have bought there and looks remarkably like a previous forum member, Wouter's boat?

You can see his at the top of the page when you go into the forum...same one?

The young lady did indeed do a good job....luckily.

Do you use your Lochin privately or commercially?

cheers.

Dave

Thanks for the welcome. Yes I bought him from Wouter. It's for private use. Fishing with friends and travels with the family. Went through the Kiel Canal to Denmark this summer. Nice trip. The boat felt very safe all the way.

Hi Martin.

Lady Jane is looking good, especially for the end of the season.

I don't know how the weather has been for you lately but down here its been absolutely pants!

I have forgotten how to fish its been so long now since I had a dangle.

Been trying to get Sorcerer 11 around to Plymouth to have some stainless bits made, but no joy as the relentless south westerly's keep on. It might even be next year now before I can get the work done, as I don't want to leave the boat down there over Christmas......that'll be when the sea is flat!wink

Good luck with LJ and have a good Christmas........in fact Merry Christmas to everyone.

Dave

Hi Dave

Thanks, I should have added that was after a pressure wash of course but she stood up well to the rigours of the season fairly well. Probably got something to do with us painting inside a shed for a change and managing to get 2 coats of antfouling on before re-launch. Going to rent the shed for 2 weeks this spring, finally having the old steel mast replaced with a radar arch and the cabin roof tidied up/re-wired so she should be looking good by next spring time.

I know what you mean with the weather it is bloody awful here wet n windy all the time I can sympathise with you trying to move Sorcerer in this weather, not easy. I currently have my neighbours boat on my mooring, he is away in Lanzarote and one of his ground chain legs on his swinging mooring has broken meaning the boat was roaming all over the shop and endangering other boats.

Anyway I won't be caring soon, 2 weeks today we will be aboard the big paraffin budgie heading to Thailand for 3 weeks of sunshine.

All the best to you and yours for Christmas and to everyone else on here too. Cheers

Martin
