i own a mitchell 31 mk 1 and had her four years ,i run out of langstone harbour so i fish all around selsey bill and the isle of white ,at the moment there is some nice plaice about .
hi dave i also have a mk1 mitchell and have just joined the forum. but could not introduce myself as could not find how to post . so i am hoping you get this
Nice to see a new member with a different type of boat. A great sea and fishing boat. They were popular in Holland as well. What engine are you running?
thanks for the welcome i will post a picture shortly the engine is a 12ohp ford thought about a larger unit but with large bilge keels to push through the water i wonder if the extra cost would be worth it and as the mooring dries out the large bilge keels keep the boat upright and thats handy
Nice plaice! We fish up here on the West Coast Scotland but don't get plaice like that on rod and line. You see a few good uns sometimes from the prawn trawlers. Action is mostly pollack, good sport on light tackle, with a range of other stuff too. In the Sound of Mull you can still get Giant Skate of 200lb plus if your patient enough.
